The Common Metabolic Diseases Knowledge Portal aggregates, analyzes, and displays human genetic and functional genomic information linked to common metabolic diseases and traits, while protecting the integrity and confidentiality of the underlying data.

The CODA study’s goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the link between COVID-19 and diabetes. This study will observe patients recently diagnosed with diabetes who have and have not had recent COVID-19.

dkNET (NIDDK Information Network, https://dknet.org) provides access to diverse biomedical research resources and tools to enhance rigor, reproducibility, and FAIR data practices. Using RRIDs, dkNET is able to provide information on resource performance. dkNET’s expanding its resource offerings to AI/ML and cloud computing resources for researchers.

The HIRN brings together experts from around the world to solve intractable problems in type 1 diabetes. The mission of the HIRN is to conduct innovative and collaborative research investigating the loss of human beta cells in type 1 diabetes (T1D), and to identify pioneering strategies to protect and replace functional beta-cell mass.

HIRN PanKbase is a comprehensive, centralized resource for the study of the human pancreas and diabetes. The PanKbase collective aims to integrate diverse type 1 diabetes (T1D) datasets with expert-curated knowledge in a centralized, open-source data hub.

The Integrated Islet Distribution Program (IIDP) distributes high quality human islets, associated tissues, and complementary data to the diabetes research community worldwide, in order to advance scientific discoveries and translational medicine.

MMPCLive supports researchers via standardized, high-quality metabolic and physiological phenotyping, comprehensive data generation, and strategic analysis for mouse models of diabetes, obesity, and related disorders.

NIDDK Central Repository - Resources for Research (NIDDK-CR R4R) facilitates sharing of data, specimens, and other resources generated from studies supported by NIDDK and within NIDDK’s mission by making these resources available for request to the broader scientific and research community.

The Rare and Atypical DIAbetes NeTwork (RADIANT) is a multicenter research study dedicated to characterizing, discovering, and defining rare and atypical forms of diabetes using genomic (whole-genome [WGS], RNA, mitochondrial sequencing), phenotypic (vital signs, biometric measurements, questionnaires, photography), metabolomics, and metabolic assessments.

The Environmental Determinants of Diabetes in the Young (TEDDY) study is a multicenter prospective cohort study that was established to investigate genetic-environmental interactions and the role of environmental factors- such as infectious agents, dietary factors, and psychosocial factors- on the development of islet autoimmunity and T1D in children at increased genetic risk for the disease. A wide array of clinical data and biospecimens were collected from the 8,676 participants at regular follow-up visits beginning at 3 months until they either reached 15 years of age or their T1D diagnosis endpoint.

TrialNet is an international network of leading academic institutions, endocrinologists, physicians, scientists, and healthcare teams at the forefront of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. We offer risk screening for relatives of people with T1D to detect the disease at its earliest stage – often years before clinical symptoms appear. For those who are at risk or newly diagnosed, we offer innovative clinical studies testing ways to slow down and prevent disease progression.

The NGSP's focus is on the harmonization and standardization of diabetes biomarkers, maintaining tracability of A1c testing back to the DCCT, and working towards the increased utilitization of biomarkers like C-peptide in patient care through improving the methods used in research studies.
