Congratulations to Dr. I Burak Ozyurt for winning the 2nd place of the 8th BioASQ Challenge (Task 8b)

Congratulations to the dkNET team member Dr. I Burak Ozyurt for winning the 2nd place of the 8th BioASQ Challenge (Task 8b: Biomedical Semantic QA) this year!

BioASQ is a challenge on large-scale biomedical semantic indexing and question answering. Dr. Ozyurt participated in BioASQ Task B On Biomedical Semantic QA which involves IR, QA, Summarization...etc. In this task, a team of biomedical experts constructed benchmark datasets containing development and test questions along with gold standard (reference) answers for task use. The participants had to respond with relevant concepts, articles, snippets and RDF triples, from designated resources, as well as exact and 'ideal' answers. There are several teams participating from around the world. Dr. I Burak Ozyurt (UCSD team), who is the Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer of the dkNET team, won the 2nd place on BATCH 2, BATCH 3, and BATCH 4!
