NIDDK Workshop: "Pathway to Kidney Recovery: Optimizing Outcomes in Acute Kidney Injury Requiring Dialysis"

This workshop’s objectives are to address the gaps in scientific knowledge in the biology, clinical monitoring, and management of AKI-D patients, with the goal of improving kidney health outcomes, especially kidney function recovery, and decreasing kidney and cardiovascular complications and associated mortality. The workshop will emphasize that research, dissemination, and implementation of evidence-based practices would boost the health outcomes of AKI-D patients. Registration Deadline: September 3, 2026.

NIDDK Meeting: Diabetes Mellitus Interagency Coordinating Committee (DMICC) Type 1 Diabetes and Cardiorenal Outcomes: Informing a Practice-Changing Trial

This DMICC meeting serves as a forum for the expert diabetes and cardiorenal panel to present perspectives on a potential clinical trial design. These insights will inform future programmatic decisions by the NIDDK and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) aimed at reducing cardiorenal disease in individuals living with T1D. Members of the broader diabetes, cardiovascular, and renal research communities are strongly encouraged to attend and contribute their critical expertise. Registration deadline: September 11, 2026.

NIDDK Workshop: Accelerating the Translation of Cell Therapy for Type 1 Diabetes

This public workshop aims to bring together relevant stakeholders to discuss best practices and recommendations to foster the translation of the next generation of cell replacement therapies for type 1 diabetes (T1D). The meeting will include panel discussions and presentations of lessons learned on challenges and strategies specific to the clinical, nonclinical, and manufacturing/quality needs to advance future T1D cell replacement therapies.
