Human Islet Research Network (HIRN)

WHAT IS IT?

Human Islet Research Network (HIRN) is a network to conduct innovative and collaborative research investigating the loss of human beta cells in type 1 diabetes (T1D), and to identify pioneering strategies to protect and replace functional beta-cell mass. HIRN connects many of the world’s leading scientists and laboratories together to address essential questions related to the loss of functional human beta cell mass in T1D. Since its inception in 2014, hundreds of studies have been performed and published. Valuable resources have been generated for dissemination to communities and investigators of interest. HIRN Resource Browser is a collection of T1D research resources including T1D datasets submitted by HIRN investigators and curators.

WHO CAN USE IT?

Scientists who want to find and/or reuse T1D related omics datasets and associated research resources contributed by HIRN investigators. HIRN datasets include genomics, metabolomics, epigenomics, cellomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics datasets.

WHAT TYPE OF QUESTIONS CAN IT ANSWER?

Where can I find Type 1 Diabetes related omics datasets?

WHAT OTHER INFORMATION CAN YOU FIND?

Integrated Islet Distribution Program (IIDP): Providing high quality human islet distribution to the diabetes research community

Human Pancreas Analysis Program (HPAP) Database (PANC-DB): A portal to make all Human Pancreas Analysis Program (HPAP) data available to anyone in the research community. It stores data from pancreatic tissue and cell samples from organ donors with and without type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

Pancreatlas (Images Mapping the Human Pancreas): A practical resource to share data from human pancreas samples

ON-DEMAND WEBINAR

Sharing Data and Other Resources from the Human Islet Research Network

In this webinar, you will be introduced to the services and resources available through HIRN, including bioreagents, datasets, documents, and technologies.
