Molecular Education, Technology and Research Innovation Center (METRIC) is an NC State University-wide Shared Core Research Facility administered by the Office of Research and Innovation. We provide internal and external researchers with access to instrumentation and technical expertise across three primary analytical platforms: Mass Spectrometry: Supports qualitative and quantitative analyses, including high-resolution accurate mass (HRAM) measurements, proteomics, metabolomics, and small molecule analysis. Magnetic Resonance (NMR & EPR): Provides structural and dynamic characterization of molecules in solution. Capabilities include multi-nuclear solution-state NMR and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy for studying paramagnetic species, transition metal complexes, and free radicals. X-Ray Diffraction: Offers atomic-level structural determination. The facility is equipped for single-crystal X-ray diffraction of both small molecules (including absolute configuration determination) and macromolecules/proteins.
