Notes: These low-alcohol-drinking were developed by selective breeding from the heterogeneous strain N:NIH (RGD:728185). 8 inbred rat strains were intercrossed for alcohol preference and consumption. Within-family selection and a rotational breeding design were employed to reduce inbreeding and to allow maintenance of non-inbred replicate lines.
