Description: Rattus norvegicus with name SS.LEW-(D1Mco2-D1Mco35)/Jr from RGD.
Species: Rattus norvegicus
Notes: SS rats were crossed with LEW and the F1 rats were backcrossed to SS. Heterozygous rats with the chromosomal region of interest were selected and backcrossed for the next generation. This was done for eight generations and then the heterozygous animals were intercrossed. A 118 cM fragment of LEW chr 1 was introgressed into SS background.
