Species: Rattus norvegicus
Notes: The outbred stock of Osborne Mendel rats maintained at the Great lakes Naval Training Station in early 1970s had the tl mutation. These rats donot survive to breed so this mutation was transferred to the LEW/N background by a series of backcrosses of heterozygous carriers to LEW/N.
