Grab some pizza, help the scientific community find data, and receive a $25 VISA gift card!

Location: University of California San Diego, Atkinson Hall 3rd floor, Room 3004
Duration: Select a 20-minute session between 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
$25 VISA gift cards* for participants who find datasets and provide us feedback.
Participants will also have a chance to win $500. Pizza is served (while supplies last)!
Bring your laptop. You can also use one of laptop on site if you don't have one with you.
Bring your friends. The more people we have, the more data we can find together.
Who can attend?
We invite all students, postdocs, faculty, or staff to join this event. Basic research scientist, clinical research scientist, bioinformatician, or data scientist are all welcomed! You don't need programming skills. If you know how to use computer to browse internet, you are qualified!
Why dkNET Data Searchathon and what to expect?
In each 20 minute session, we will briefly describe a biomedical research question. The participants will then use dkNET (NIDDK Information Network, https://dknet.org), an NIH funded tool, to find datasets relevant to the question and provide minimal information about the data that is found. The goal is to help the scientific community by providing information on biomedical data that are available to them.
